A group of 12 roughly ovoid cropmarks are visible on 1940s aerial photography. These are interpreted as a group of saltmounds of probable medieval date. They are overlain by cropmarks of post-medieval ridge and furrow, see MWX43253.

Twelve roughly ovoid cropmarks are visible on 1940s RAF vertical aerial photography [1]. The cropmarks cover an area 180m (NNW-SSE) x 120m (WSW-ENE); their sizes vary from 12m x 16m up to 35m x 20m with the majority lying roughly in the centre of this range. The features are interpreted as a group of plough-levelled saltmounds of probable medieval date. These were not recorded on the Ordnance Survey 1877 edition [2].

The saltmound cropmarks are overlain by cropmarks of post-medieval ridge and furrow (MWX43253).

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [3].
