Second World War entrance to a possible underground shelter located in the grounds of Pierremont Hall, west of Broadstairs Harbour, and has been mapped from military aerial photographs taken in 1942.

A rectangular shaped cut measuring approximately 15m long and 2m wide is visible. This feature could be an entrance into an underground shelter; there is evidence of other disturbance around the entrance, but no sign of a mound that could be associated with an air raid shelter.

It is first visible in December 1941 [1] and has been mapped from phtographs taken in May 1942 [2]. It has been truncated by a garden path in April 1950 [3] and is gone by June 1979 [4].

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [5].Entrance sealed by iron door.
