Three closely associated Second World War coastal defences located south of Joss Bay, North Foreland. The features comprise two possible gun emplacements and a barbed wire enclosure, and were mapped from military aerial photographs taken in 1942.

The possible gun emplacements are both open rectangular structures in plan (measuring 2m by 1.4m and 3.5m sqaured) with an entrance, and have been substantially banked up around the exterior. The two structures are located 23m apart.

Just over 20m to the south of these possible gun emplacements is a rectangular enclosure of barbed wire that on the southern side is three lengths deep.

The features were first visible on military aerial photographs taken in May 1942 [1]. The most northerly of the three structures is gone by the 4th of April 1946 [2]. All the remaining features are gone by April 1950 [3].

A transcription of the features recorded from aerial photography exists within a GIS layer held by this HER [4].
