Summary
The earthworks of a post medieval pond and associated spoil can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1946. This pond was situated on Wells's Marshes, in the south-west corner of the Isle of Grain. It is first depicted by the Ordnance Survey in 1896 and was levelled in the construction of the BP refinery (NMR 1545825) in the early 1950s. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

The earthworks of a post medieval pond and associated spoil can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1946. This pond was situated on Wells's Marshes, in the south-west corner of the Isle of Grain and was centred on TQ 8262 7425. It is first depicted by the Ordnance Survey in 1896 and was levelled in the construction of the BP refinery (NMR 1545825) in the early 1950s. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-4)
