Summary

Old Chalk quarry located on Fox Hill Down, to the east of the Port of Dover. This former quarry is thought to date to at least the early 19th century and is visible on aerial photography dated to 1945 and 1962. As of 2003 the quarry has been infilled and is an area of scrubland.

An old chalk quarry lies on the northern side of Fox Hill Down. It was accessed on the north side and is 3-4m deep by 10m diameter. Heavily overgrown with scrub. The quarry pre-dates 1840.(1)
