Former site of Station House No. 13, one of the original 15 Station Houses constructed to control crossing points of the Royal Military Canal. No. 13 was burnt down in 1843 and not replaced.

Constructed in 1809 each Station House had a slate roof, earth floor and was constructed of brick noggin. They were designed to accommodate one NCO and eight men. After 1820 all were rebuilt in stone. In 1841 pensioners replaced soldiers at 8 of the stations. Some were demolished before the Second World War and today only that at Iden remains little changed.
