This bastion lay about 30m north of the south-west corner bastion, and like the corner bastion had again been heavily robbed and cut by later features, mostly graves. Unlike the corner bastion however, this was a later addition to the original for wall. Only the foundations survived to a maximum height of 0.7m these were situated directly above the earlier roman barrack block (B31). They suggested an overall length (north-south) of 7m and width of about 4.5m. These remains were constructed of alternating layers of rammed chalk and flint. (1)
