Summary

During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a road was located, occupying the space between barrack block B24 and B25, in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. The surviving remains consisted of an area of gravel metalling 6.4m wide. (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information)

During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a road was located, occupying the space between barrack block B24 and B25, in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. The surviving remains consisted of an area of gravel metalling, 6.4m wide. Three clear layers of metalling are apparent though patchy (1)
