The human remains were located during a watching brief on trenches associated with Dover Spine Main, the human bones may relate to an otherwise unknown burial site opposite the church of St. James, originally situated on the other side of a narrow street that was in use prior to widening of the street in the nineteenth century. The remains were deemed to be of limited significance and were left in situ. (1)
