Taken from source:

This important wheel-thrown spouted pitcher of hard grey sand ware and grey surface was discovered in a pit on the burial ground site at Dover in 1970. This vessel has a grooved flattened-face rim with internal groove. It has a diameter of 120mm and a tubular spout measuring 32mm, also with a faint groove. The spout is placed high on the shoulder of the vessel and was inserted into a previously made hole in its wall. It has a characteristically sagging base and the body of the pot has marked rilling or girth grooves. Useful comparisons can be made with vessels from a pottery kiln found at Pound Lane in Canterbury, dated to about the middle of the 12th century. This is regarded as an Anglo Norman product. (1)
