Full description
If you do not understand anything on this page please contact us.
In the early 1920s a new village was built immediately to the north of Betteshanger colliery to house the colliery deputies. It consisted of in excess of 50 semi-detached properties arranged around a circular wheel structure reminiscent of a pit head wheel. The majority of workers at Betteshanger lived in and around Deal and they were not catered for on this development.
The houses remain in use today. (1)
