(TR 369 525) Roman Pottery, Court Lodge, Middle Deal. From the garden of Court Lodge, Middle Deal, the oldest inhabited house in Deal 'builtc1540' came a small vessel of a cream coarse ware, of Romano-British date. The owners, Mr and Mrs Lead permitted the examination of a further several hundred sherds of pottery which have been unearthed from the grounds of the property. It is hoped that excavations may proceed within the near future. (1)
