TR 36445684 Roman occupation site at Dickson's Corner. Continued excavation at Dickson's Corner demonstrated that Roman occupation extended over some 1.2 ha (2.5 acres) and revealed nine areas of laid beach pebbles, of which two were fully excavated. (TR 35 NE 3) (6)

London Ware found at Worth. (3)

(a) In 1899 Samian and Roman coarse pottery were found by C. Solly whilst building the inner sea wall at Dickson's Corner, Worth. (b) In 1978/79 an extensive occupation site, covering about 2.5 acres was investigated by the Dover Archaeological Group at Dickson's Corner, Worth. One probable hut was located along with several areas of laid beach pebbles and clay, perhaps hard standings. The Roman deposits lay on wind blown sand and were sealed under a thin layer of the same. Over 3000 sherds of pottery were recovered from the site. These indicate a late C1/C2 AD date. Other finds included a number of quernstones, several bronze objects, pieces of lead and small amounts of bone and shell. (4)
