[TR 22306425] Saxon spear found April 1949. (1) On exhibition in Chislet Parish Church are a spearhead, fragments of 2 knives and a pin, believed to be 4th century A.D. discovered in February 1949 by Mr. P. Male, sexton, whilst digging a grave in the N.W. corner of the new churchyard (a). The finds are in poor condition. Authority 1's siting was confirmed by Mr. Male. (2) Additional bibliography (3-4)
