(TR 021287). Moat shown on 6" with adjoining name `Moat House'. (1) Homestead moat, water-filled and in good condition. Published 25" survey correct. (2) TR 022287. Ivychurch. Moat House listed under moated sites in Kent. (3) (TR 02132872) Moat (NR) (TR 02152869) Moat House (NAT) (4) TR 022287. Moat House is listed in the County checklist of moated sites in Kent - December 1979. (5) TR 021287. Ivychurch. B2070 (north-east side) Moat House. 6/79 Grade II House. C16 or early C17 with late C18 or early C19 facade. Timber framed, clad in painted brick. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attic with cogged brick eaves cornice. Roof hipped to right. Multiple brick ridge stack to centre. Small hipped dormer towards right end. Irregular fenestration of 4 windows; one 3-light casement, one fixed light and two 12-pane glazing bar sashes in open boxes. Central boarded door in painted brick porch with hipped plain tiled roof. Interior: only partly inspected. Ground floor right hand room has hollow chamfered beam and joists. Inglenook fireplace. Exposed timbers. Moated site. (6)
