[TR 07222565] Beacon Bank (NAT) (applied to mound) (1) William Lambarde's 'Carde' of c1570 shows a beacon on the NE side of New Romney and a total of 52 beacons in Kent. The Beacon system dropped out of use after 1640. (2) No trace of the mound remains. (3)
