[TQ 8446 6971] Roman coins found by Peter Gray in 1930. (1) I have found three Roman coins at Bayford Point, a base antoninianus of Tetricus II and two small AE of Claudius II, one of them struck after his death. (2) These coins, which remain in Gray's possession, came from the beach at Bayford centred TQ 84466971. Until 1952 this beach was littered with sherds, briquetage, and brick and roofing tile fragments but very little evidence of this remains today. For probably associated finds see TQ 86 NW 28 & 39 (3) (a) (TQ 84466972) Roman Coins found 1930 (NAT) (4). Additional reference (5,6). For site in context with others in inter-tidal zone, see (7).
