Summary

A variety of Saxon finds, possibly recovered from a burial. The finds include Saxon spearheads, pottery, and beads. The finder had no memory of any bone evidence therefore the original context of these finds remains uncertain.

The site lies on the western edge of Otterham Creek, facing north-east. OD 30-35m.

[TQ 8284 6715] Saxon spearheads, pottery and beads found in 1930 by Peter Gray. Possible interment. (1) I cannot remember the precise details of the finding of these objects.They probably accompanied an interment, but I do not remember any bones being found. Grove's siting confirmed by Gray. Whereabouts of the finds not known. (2) [TQ 828 671] An Anglo-Saxon inhumation cemetery (see also TQ 86 NW 20). (3) [TQ 8284 6715] Anglo-Saxon remains found 1930 [NAT] (4)
