Possible Romano-British mounds centred TQ 73207795, measuring 65.om. by 50.om., and 1.5m. high, and enclosing an embanked hollow in the S. side, was found to contain several feet thickness of settlement debris, dating from late 1st.c. to possible early .3rd c. with a Medieval overlay. (1)

These mounds are in the course of being excavated by Mr. Hutchings. Additional index entries and references from relevant site reports (2-6). Site photographs (7-10).

The features were mapped as part of the Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project (11)
