Possibly founded before 1650. Probably owned by S.& S. Brenchley around 1847 to 1867. By 1874 it was acquired by Isherwood, Foster & Stacey Ltd. In 1929 Fremlins acquired it and soon closed the brewery. The brewery and maltings were demolished in 1973 and a shopping centre and car park constructed on the site.(1)
