The brewery was operated by W. Plane in 1836. By 1839 he was in partnership with Heathon, until 1858, when it was acquired by Russell family. In 1930 the brewery was acquired by Truman, Hanbury & Buxton Co. Ltd. Associated with the brewery was probably a maltings. Some of the brewery buildings remain and are used as private dwellings.(1-3). Site photographs (4-19).
