Founded in 1823, by John Hoile, and by 1867 it was acquired and renamed by Gillow & Warham to East Kent Brewery. It merged with Ash & Co of Canterbury, in 1920, to form Ash's East Kent Brewery.Some of the Brewery is still standing and in use as a corn and feed merchants until it was converted for residential use in 1996.(1)
