Summary
The remains of 18th and 19th century buildings over shops on Hawley Street have been identified as possible maltings. A two storey brick building was also identified as a possible brew house. A two storey building with a loading door may also have been connected. An office with 'Reeve & Co. Ltd, est. 70 yrs.' is present at the site. As the George Pub is adjoining this may also have some connection.

C18 houses now over shops on Hawley Street with weatherboarded link building behind, adjoining a 2 storey brick building (poss brew house) and three 2 storey half timbered 6 bay ranges behind. Although the windows are large they have the look of poss. maltings. A 2 storey building at No. 26 Hawley St of C18/19 date with a loading door and louvred roof line may also have been connected. Access to yard via pend between No. 30 and 32. Arched openings to 'Maltings' from yard, office with 'Reeve & Co. Ltd, est. 70 yrs.' in relief at No. 32. Part of George Pub adjoining poss. connected. Lean-to's at rear and site fragments of further buildings plus tall 2 storey brick building with timber panels to rear of the George (1). Additional site photographs (2-9).
