Summary

Rigden's Brewery in Court St , Faversham was founded around 1764. A map shows the buildings towards the north of the site and gardens to the south. In the 1970s, the site was totally redeveloped, aoart from the offices on Court St From this period the maltings, brewhouse and tun house still survive. In 1994 the brewery closed down and the buildings were converted into a supermarket: at this time the cask yard, coopers shop, boiler houses and a 1920s bottling plant were all demolished.

Rigden's Brewery, Court St Faversham founded c1764. With buildings marked on map against the Church lane boundary of the site with gardens to the S. In 1870's the site was completely redeveloped, except the offices on Court St. From this period maltings (plus a later extension), brewhouse and tun house survive. The brewery closed in 1994 and subsequently adapted as retail units. In the process the cask yard, coopers shop and boiler houses, all along the Church St boundary, were demolished along with a 1920s bottling plant at the S side of the site.
