Site situated between cropmark complex and possible site of Roman villa (see TR 35 SE 4). Trial trenching in advance of development revealed 2 ditches interpreted as of agricultural origin, one of Roman date, (pottery in fill), the other undated. (1)
Two additional boundary or field ditches, dated to middle 2nd to early 3rd century [?]. Also scatter of worked flint of Late Neolithic-Early Bronze Age date. (2)
Proposed Safeway Store development rejected and under appeal. (3)
