Queenborough Old Pier opened in 1876, destroyed by fire in 1882. Rebuilt but damaged in a second fire in 1900. Built as a landing stage for theFlushing Ferry and a connection to the main line railway.Operated in these capacities until 1914. Used by the Admiralty in WW2. Railway tracks on the pier taken up shortly before demolition in 1955. A modern landing stage is situated on the site (1) and site photograph (2).
