Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of Romano-British property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. Within property 3 a series of linear features representing possible gullies or beam slots were identified. These were broadly parallel, of variable width, and from 1.5 to 6 m in length. It is possible that the southern group, in particular, were beam slots associated with a structure adjacent to the waterfront. Pottery from the various fills includes material ranging in date from the mid 1st to the early 2nd century. (1)
