A slipway and boat house, west of Victoria Pier, Folkestone, is visible on the Epoch 2-4 (1899, 1908 and 1938) editions of historic 1:2500 Ordnance Survey mapping [1-3]. The maximum dimension for the feature is 19m by 11m. Neither the slipway nor the boathouse is visible on MasterMap (2009) [4].
The area was given a monument polygon (mapped from the Epoch 3 edition [2])during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
