A lighthouse, with a white flashing light, is visible on the end of Folkestone Harbour East Pier only on the Epoch 4 (1938) edition of historic 1:2500 Ordnance Survey mapping [1]. A white flashing light beacon is still visible on MasterMap (2009) [2]. This monument is positioned opposite another lighthouse (MWX44002), located on the end of the southern pier forming the entrance to the Outer Harbour.
The position for the lighthouse was given a monument point during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
