Summary

During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a chalk block drain associated with the latrine block (B33) in the south east corner of the Battle of Britain Homes Site in 1971. The drain was traced for 1.2m running southwards through the wall of the latrine. (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information)

During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a chalk block drain associated with the latrine block (B33) in the south east corner of the Battle of Britain Homes Site in 1971. The drain was traced for 1.2m running southwards through the wall of the latrine. It was cut from a single chalk block and measured 14cm wide by 15cm high. (1)
