During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a chalk block drain was located in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. 3m of the drain was traced running north-south about 2m west of a barrack block (B24). (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information)

During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit a chalk block drain was located in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. 3m of the drain was traced running north-south about 2m west of a barrack block (B24). The drain had been badly disturbed by later features but parts of its chalk block base and survived. It is possible that it joined chalk block drain B79 to the north. (1)
