Summary

During extensive rescue excavations undertaken across Dover’s Town centre by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit an area of metalling was located, occupying a large area in the south east corner of the fort, in 1971 at the Battle of Britain Homes site. This metalling probably represents a large open area which had been cut by later drains an filled in period two by a latrine block. (location accurate to the nearest 2m based on available information)
