A watching brief was undertaken on trenches for a major new water pipeline for Dover, part of which was located along York Street and cut both the Saxon Shore fort and the Classis Britannica Fort. A number of chalk block walls which are associated with the CLBR Fort II barracks, alongside metalled surfaces and occupation deposits associated with the Classis Britannica fort II, were located. (Location accurate to the nearest 10m based on available information).
