Worked palaeolithic flake was found within the western edge of Craylands Gorge in an exposure of archaeologically significant Coombe deposits (site no 126 in Appendix II) during a walkover survey of the area undertaken in 2004. the deposits are similar to the sequence in the ebbsfleet vally only 1km to the east, suggesting that sediments within this area are of archaeological significance (1)
