A point was placed on the 'Coastguard Station' label during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.

A coastguard station is only visible on the Epoch 3 (1908) edition of the historic 1:2500 Ordnance Survey mapping, located on the coast at Dunkirk End [1]. The station is no longer visible on the Epoch 4 (1938) edition [2].
Since the structure itself could not be ascertained, a point was placed on the 'Coastguard Station' label during historic mapping enhancement as part of Phase 1 of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
