A slipway on the coast at Hythe is visible on Epochs 3-4 (1908 and 1946) of 1:2500 historic Ordnance Survey mapping [1-2]. The feature appears to have been converted into steps on MasterMap (2009) [3]. The slipway has a maximum area of 9.3m by 8.4m and appears to be incorporated into the seawall.
The feature was given a monument polygon (mapped from the Epoch 3 edition [1]) during historic mapping enhancement as part of the South East Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey.
