A scatter of Roman pottery, ceramic building material and part of an iron strap was found west of Springhead Nursery during excavations associated with the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002. these were not directly associated with any features of a roman date and it sems likely that they represent surface spread from the adjacent settlement.
