A square concrete pillbox [First World War] with two Loopholes (embrasures) for machine guns which is of the type shown in the 1919 Chatham Land Front Map (3). It is located by a public footpath on Wormdale Farm, Wormdale Lane, Newington. It measures 10 feet by 9 feet and has two embrasure, believed to be intended for Lewis Guns. The one in the SE wall measures 40 long inches by 15 inches high, the other in the NW wall is 53 long inches by 15 inches. The door is 2 feet wide by 5 feet 2 inches high in the NW side.

It is in very good condition, even having most of the anti bullet splash timber in situ around the embrasures
