As part of the Northfleet Roman villa complex, a large aisled structure was constructed c. 60m west of the main villa, probably in the 3rd century. It was 14m wide and at least 28m long and comprised masonry walls and two lines of internal post holes.

The chronology of the building is complex but it seems likely to have been constructed in the 3rd century. About AD 270 the two lines of post holes were replaced with masonry footings that may have supported new posts or narow internal walls. It is possible that extra structures such as a tower or storeroom were added at the south end of the building. The building seems to have become disused during the 4th century as pits were dug in the southern half and parts of the northern half were covered in a silty layer. (1-7)
