Excavations in advance of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link in 2002-3 identified a number of property boundaries west of the Ebbsfleet. This is Property 1. The property was probably aligned on Watling Street although the limited excavation area makes it difficult to know for sure. The boundary is defined by a shallow irregular ditch to the north but the excavation boundaries prevented any attempt to define the property in other directions. The given boundary in the east, south and west thus represents the limits of the excavated area rather than any Roman boundaries.

Within property 1 was found a small part of what may have been a substantial structure - possibly a bath-house (see TQ 67 SW 1399). (1)
