The site of a Second World War roadblock constructed on the A253 Dunstrete, Sarre in mid 1940 to counter the threat of German Invasion. The roadblock was manned by 198 Infantry Brigade A/TK Company and is recorded in the war diaries of the Brigade – Ref: 166. (1)

A roadblock of Second World War date forming part of Sarre Defended Locality was visible as a structure on US/7PH/GP/LOC295 V 5005 20-APR-1944. The feature was recorded as a demolished structure on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021. It was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (2-3)
