The site of a Second World War roadblock constructed on Manston Road, St. Lawrence, Ramsgate beneath the Canterbury - Ramsgate railway line in mid 1940 to counter the threat of German Invasion. The roadblock was manned by the Ramsgate Home Guard and is recorded in the war diaries of 198 Infantry Brigade – Ref: 157. (1)
