During the East Kent Access Route excavations (2009 - 2011) a few medieval features were discovered in zone 4. Three or possibly four features at the north of Zone 4 were of Medieval date, and are assigned to the 13th century on the basis of the pottery recovered from their fills. All are shallow and narrow ditches, possibly defining small plots or enclosures, though their full extent is not clear due to the later truncation. Earlier work to the east and west had previously discovered similar ditches, possibly related to a small farmstead in the vicinity of Ebbsfleet Farm. A metalled trackway was also uncovered in the north-east of the zone , this is of a likely post medieval date probably represents a track from Ebbsfleet Lane to Ebbsfleet Farm.
