The Canterbury UAD states that little is known about the Comet Inn. It is shown at Nos 4 & 5 Broad Street as a Public House on the 1st Edition OS map of 1874. It is listed in Steven's Directory of 1882 as The Comet with George Pattison as licensee.
It was still there in 1931 when it was listed in the Kelly's Directory of 1931 as the Comet Inn with John Rogers Linkins as licensee. However sometime between then and 1949 it had closed down and the listing does not appear in Kelly's Directory of 1949-50.
