The Canterbury UAD states that there is a Public House which is shown at 27 Artillery Street on the corner near the access to Artillery Gardens on the 1st edition O.S. Map. No information about this Public House has been found to date, however it had clearly closed by 1931 when Kelly's Diretory of 1931 shows that the premises by then had become a shop (grocers?) with David Prett as the proprietor.
