12 m long pre-existing tunnel under London Road, Swanscombe, Dartford, Kent, joining two chalk quarries, used informally during the Second World War as an air raid shelter for the workers of the Swanscombe Cement Works, north of London Road. The tunnel still exists but its northern entrance has been blocked by a steel gate. (1)
