[TR 32857014] Roman Burials found AD 1925 [NAT] (1) Roman graves, skeletons, pottery and coins found 1925 on the E side of Norman Road, Westgate. (2,3) These finds are not in any of the local museums an no further information was obtained at Broadstairs Council Offices where Hurd was Boro. Engineer for many years. The area is completely developed and there is no record of any subsequent finds. (4) Sometime in the 1860's and again in the 1930's Romano-British remains, including cremation and inhumation burials and occupation debris were encountered in this area. (5)
