During a research excavation in 2008 two Roman refuse pits were found, located in the eastern sector of Lymphe Field. Pit one contained a variety of Roman pottery from mid 2nd century to late 4th century and a range of animals bones. In pit two datable coins and brooches were discovered with the same dates as pit one. (1)
