[TR 20336530] Roman Cremations found [NAT] (1) Five mid-2nd century A.D. cremation burials, were found about 1923 in a gravel pit on a hill top, Millbank, to the west of the Canterburyroad at Ford. (2) On exhibition in Herne Bay Museum is a selection of pottery from Millbank including Samian ware, platters, urns, ring-necked jar etc. Also on exhibition is a small burial urn, three and a half inches high, from Highstead (a) and probably from this cemetery. The gravel pit has been long disused and no further finds are reportedfrom the area. (3) additional bibliograhy (4-5)
