[TR 20765497] Anglo-Saxon burial ground [NAT] Roman coins and pottery found A.D. 1773 [NAT] (1) On Adisham Down, within Bekesbourne parish, Faussett opened 45 Anglo-Saxon barrows in 1773, twenty nine contained oak coffin burials. Coins of Diocletian and Maximian and Gaulish and Roman ware were also found. (2-4) No further finds have been reported from this site which was under crop when visited. (5) Additional bibliography.
